白色针状结晶。熔点184-185℃(分解)。溶于甲醇、乙醇、醚、苯、丙酮、氯仿和乙酸乙酯。在中性溶液中稳定,在酸、碱或热水中易分解成谷氨酸,或内酯化为吡咯羧酸。无臭、有微甜香味。
用途:该品在体内转变成为糖胺,作为合成粘蛋白的前体,可促进溃疡愈合,主要用作消化道溃疡药。此外,还可用作脑功能改善剂和用于治疗酒精中毒。
