Biochem/physiol Actions
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic commonly used in veterinary medicine. It is used to study protein synthesis at the level of the 50S ribosome, implant site abscess prevention in cattle, disposition kinetics and Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma meleagridis infections.
Interferes with bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit.Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma.
Stock solutions should be filter sterilized and stored at 2-8 °C. Stable at 37 °C for 3 days.
