Biochem/physiol Actions
A component of membrane phospholipids, glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchors that bind glycoproteins to cell membranes, and inositol phosphate second messengers.
Application
Myo-Inositol, an organic osmolyte, is used to improve ovarian function in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Myo-Inositol may be used to study the H+-myo-inositol transporter SLC2A13, a Potential Marker for Cancer Stem Cells in an Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
肌醇广泛分布在动物和植物体内，是动物、微生物的生长因子。在80℃以上从水或乙酸中得到的肌醇为白色晶体，熔点253℃，密度 1.752 克/厘米3（15℃ )，味甜，溶于水和乙酸，无旋光性。
